Agata Zemla (Poland, 1994)

Agata Zemla - polish composer and biologist (1994). She composes contemporary classical She creates in the area of engaged music, including journalistic content in her compositions. In her works she touches on political, sociological, psychological and natural aspects. Her works have been presented during Musica Electronica Nova (Wrocław, NFM, 2019,2023), Musica Polonica Nova (Wrocław, NFM, 2022,2024), Festival of Premieres (Katowice, NOSPR 2021), Sacrum Profanum (Krakow, KTO Theatre, 2022),
Warsaw Autumn (Warsaw, SPATiF, 2022, 2024), Canti Spatzializzati (Wrocław, Żyjnia, 2022), Art Media Biennale Reverso 2021 (Centrum WroArt, 2021), Wrocław Opera (2022, 2023), HOK, Museum Oslo, National Museum in Warsaw. She is also a performer and sound designer, creating intermedia performances focusing on translating body movement into sound. She creates the audiovisual duo Anabioses with Aleksandra Trojanowska (Random Check 3, NFM; Random Check 4, Four Domes Pavilion, International Competition for Intermedia Work of Art ICIA 2022, Warsaw Autumn 2024). She also composes music for plays (Gloria - dir. Gosia Wdowik, Neumarkt Theatre Zurich, Switzerland; Anxiety Comes at Dusk, Wrocław Pantomime Theatre, Wrocław, Poland). She graduated with distinction in composition from the class of prof. dr hab. Cezary Duchnowski at the Academy of Music in Wroclaw, Poland.
Ching Lam (Mavis) Chung (Hong Kong, 2003)

CHUNG Ching Lam, Mavis (b. 2003), was born and raised in Hong Kong. Mavis is pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at Hong Kong Baptist University. She studies composition under the guidance of Dr. Eugene Birman, Dr. Stylianos Dimou and Dr. Ka Shu TAM. Mavis's music thoughtfully explores timbre, transforming ordinary sounds into unexpected auditory experiences. Her compositions discover the beauty of melancholy as she creates aunique sonic landscape that reflects her
philosophy and experiences.
She won a third prize in the 2nd NC Wong Young Composers Award and was selected for the electroacoustic composition fellowship at the Delian Academy. She also attended the URTIcanti contemporary music festival and Internationales Digitalkunst Festival in 2024. Her compositions have been performed in Greece, Germany, and Italy.
Mavis also has the privilege of attending masterclasses with Professor Chaya Czernowin, Dr. Natasha Barrett, Maestro Alessandro Solbiati. Her compositional works encompass a wide range of contemporary music and electroacoustic genres.
Pierre Relaño (France, 1991)

Pierre Relaño was born in France in 1991. After an engineering degree in artificial intelligence and signal processing at Institut National Polytechnique de Bordeaux, he pursued advanced studies in mathematics and physics at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. Later on, he joined IRCAM, where he was researcher in the Music Representation team for a project entitled SMIR (Structural Music Information Research), his work there was centered on the algebraic description of non-tonal harmonic
progression strategies. Nowadays, he works as tech lead engineer of the DSP department at Expressive E (electronic instruments manufacturer), in collaboration with the Faust programming language team at GRAME (Lyon).
Self-taught composer, he was initially interested in sound synthesis and algorithmic compositional processes. From 2012 to 2018 he performed his music live while constantly bonding new works with the construction of software instruments technologies for studio and performances. He then gradually turned to instrumental music composition, in which his harmonic-timbral approach have found a more suitable writing space, while pursuing the embodiment of his techniques in his own computer-assisted compositional environment.
In recent years, he has collaborated with musicians from international contemporary ensembles (Divertimento, L’Itinéraire, Meitar, Ictus), and deepened his training through masterclasses by composers Unsuk Chin, Mauro Lanza, Daniele Ghisi or Francesco Filidei.
His music have been performed in venues and festivals such as IRCAM (Paris), Fabbrica del Vapore (Milano), CEME festival (Tel Aviv), Festspielhaus Hellerau (Dresden, ICAS / CTM festival program), Le Centquatre (Paris), Les Instants Chavirés (Paris), Biennale Némo ARCADI (Paris), Été 78 (Bruxelles), Nuits Sonores festival (Lyon), Les Siestes Électroniques festival (Toulouse), among others.
Federico Ambruosi (Italy, 2001)

Federico Ambruosi (2001) is a sound artist and computer musician from Bari, Italy.
His works have been performed in Milan by Myriam García Fidalgo and others. He has been recipient of the PiGro Residency 2024 for electroacoustic composers at Centro Tempo Reale in Florence, where he has been composing a work for solo live electronics and multimedia.He is currently studying Composition under the guidance of Zeno Baldi and he is graduated in Computer Music (MA) at the G. Verdi Conservatory of
Milan with Davide Gagliardi.
During his studies he spent a semester as Erasmus student at the Institut für Elektronische Musik und Akustik – IEM of the Kunst Universität Graz (AT). He also attended the Live Electronics summer program at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena with Alvise Vidolin, receiving the Diploma di Merito in 2024.
Active as electronic performer and sound director, he worked with Orchestra del Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Schallfeld Ensemble, Duo Dubois, Quartetto Sincronie, Zeno Baldi, Pierre Jodlowski, Óscar Escudero, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Roberto Fabbriciani, MLOrk - Milan Laptop Orchestra and others.
He is a member of Sistema Ensemble and the Chigiana Live Electronics Ensemble.

Joohyun Parc (South Korea, 1993)
Leonardo Mezzalira (Italy, 1992)

Joohyun Parc is a composer based in New York City and Baltimore whose work invites audience to question their surroundings. Her compositions aim to disrupt ingrained musical expectations by navigating and confronting the listener’s cognitive dissonance. Her artistic practice is devoted to creating an acoustic space and situation that cultivate the audience’s critical thinking. The communication between the audience and her composition rejects any imposed ideas other than sonic information

Leonardo Mezzalira studied composition in Padova (Italy). He is currently pursuing a PhD at the Conservatory of Ferrara (Italy) with a project on the developing of new compositional techniques through the study of the structure of vulnerable natural soundscapes. He spent a period in erasmus in Prague (Czech Republic) and he attended to several composition courses, festivals and masterclasses including impuls (Graz, Austria, 2019 and 2021), an advanced course of composition at Scuola di Musica di
Her compositions have been featured internationally at events such as Ostrava Days (PLATO Ostrava 2023), Yarn/Wire Institute Festival (The DiMenna Center for Classical Music 2022), sound:moves:us (The Clark Art Institute 2022), and the International Young Composers and Conductors Academy (Ticino, Switzerland 2024), along with the collaborations with renowned ensembles and performers like Will Lang, JACK Quartet, Yarn/Wire, and Unheard-of//Ensemble.
Currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University under Michael Hersch and Eric Wubbels, Parc previously earned her Bachelor’s in composition from Manhattan School of Music, studying with Reiko Füting and Lewis Nielson. Upcoming projects include new works for LIGAMENT and House on Fire trio.
Mark Abramovski (Isreal, 2002)

Mark Abramovski is an Israeli-born, Boston-based composer, bass player, and improviser. Mark’s recent pieces explore the effects of coherence and incoherence on
form, material, and process, and their relevance in the preservation of our current
time and space. He has performed with notable artists such as Tony Malaby, Kris
Davis, Francisco Mela, Anat Fort, and Albert Beger. Coming to the United States as
an improviser, Mark then gravitated naturally towards composition, his work
enhanced on both sides by the natural disparity between them. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at the New England Conservatory in Boston where he studies with Efstratios Minakakis and Davide Ianni.
Fiesole (Fiesole, Italy, 2017-2018) and two IDEA laboratories (Divertimento Ensemble, Milan, Italy 2022 and 2023). He was awarded several prizes, among which the first prize at the 1st Central European String Quartet International Composition Competition (Budapest, Hungary, 2018), and he was selected for artistic residencies such as the orchestra composition residency Orcreiamo (Forlì, Italy, 2020) and the solo flute composition residency Ragazze e ragazzi – Salvemini 1990 (Valsamoggia, Italy, 2023). His works were performed at several music festivals and in several venues in Europe and in the USA, among which: EstOvest festival (Cuneo, Italy), SIMC festival (Verona, Italy), Bisbee Woman’s Club (AZ, USA), Festival Cristofori (Padova, Italy), IDEA (Milan, Italy), CAMPGround (FL, USA), Estate teatrale veronese (Verona, Italy), Festival Padova Danza (Padova, Italy), Amici della musica di Padova (Padova, Italy), impuls (Graz, Austria) etc. In 2019 he founded Taverna Maderna, an association whose purpose is to diffuse and promote contemporary music and new artistic languages and to organize collaborative projects.
Alessandro Fatucci (Italy, 1994)

Born in 1994 in Aprilia, Alessandro Fatucci studied Electric Guitar before pursuing
composition at the Conservatory of Latina under the guidans of Alberto Meoli and Mario Gagliani. Later, he continued his compositional studies with Maurizio Azzan. He has enriched his musical knowledge through composition masterclasses with figures such as Mauro Lanza, Michelangelo Lupone, Gilberto Bosco, Ivan Fedele, Toivo Tulev, Alberto Posadas, Marcel Chyrzinski, Frédéric Durieux. He earned a Master in
videogame Music in 2023, at the conservatory of Rome.

Pinelopi Oikonomea (Greece, 2001)

Pinelopi Oikonomea was born in Athens, Greece, in 2001. She started piano and music theory lessons at the age of 8. She currently lives in Thessaloniki, studying Music Composition with Michalis Lapidakis, in the Department of Music Studies of the Aristotle University. Her music has been performed in different venues in Thessaloniki, including
Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Department of Music Studies and Transcendence Studio. She has composed music for the theater
performance "When we cease to understand the world" which has been performed at the Department of Theater Studies in Thessaloniki. Since 2024 she is an active member of "Post-Sonic Experiment" an independent collaboration for contemporary music, that organises contemporary music concerts and other related events.
Yizhen Lyu (China, 2001)

Yizhen Lyu is a composer and sound artist born in China and based on Baltimore
recently. She is an avid composer for both solo and chamber music, electronic sound
and continually . Yizhen used to study with different background and country
composers and artists, now she is mainly studying with composer Oscar Bettison for
her Bachelor Degree in Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. She also hadmaster classes in the past with many composers around the world. Many of
Yizhen’s pieces have been demonstrated to the music field by cooperating and working with several young, talented musicians and artist. Her compositions have been played all over the world by many outstanding performers. In 2019, Yizhen’s All in One was played by Pianist Yifei Xu at Manhattan School of Music. In 2021, contemporary Pianists Choo Choo Hu and Michael Sheppard performed Faded Azure at Goodwin hall of Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, 取 Upādāna (Instruments) was also recorded by Tacet(i) ensemble in 2022 etc. What is more, Yizhen has studied and absorbed advanced electronic music and created many interesting artistic concepts. The track Upādāna(electronic) is performed live with mugic sensors, combining gestures and soundscapes based on a Buddhist context. More than that, she is keen to collaborate with many amazing
young artists; In 2022, she collaborated with artist Yuqing Zhao to create the eponymous artwork Black Waterfall. Collaborating with choreographer Eon Allum on the tune The Spirit of Mountains in 2023-2024, and In the same year, she collaborated with the artist Ashiling Han to create the work Inertia, which will exhibition at the gallery Area 405 in Baltimore. In the future, she also have projects with famous ensembles like Loadbang in March and so on. Yizhen's passion for chamber music and electronic sound composition fuels her pursuit of a unique sonic identity. She achieves this by weaving Eastern influences into the fabric of contemporary composition, creating a captivating blend of tradition and innovation. Yizhen's music is characterized by its focus on both the grand structure and the intimate details. She meticulously crafts expressive harmonies and phrasing, aiming to evoke emotions and paint vivid sonic landscapes. Conceptual innovation is another cornerstone of her creative process. Yizhen constantly seeks fresh and unconventional artistic concept to imbue her compositions with depth and intrigue. Driven by a tireless work ethic, Yizhen remains dedicated to her artistic journey, determined to share her unique sonic world and transport listeners on extraordinary musical journeys.
Wen-Chia Lien (Taiwan, 2000)

Wen-Chia Lien (b. 2000) is a Taiwanese composer. Her compositions span various genres, encompassing contemporary music and multimedia creation. In recent years, she has dedicated herself to interdisciplinary theater and electroacoustic music. Her music often reflects on social issues, historical events, and humanities studies.
Her orchestral piece "Scars" was awarded Third place in the 2024 Composition Competition of National Taiwan Symphony
Orchestra (NTSO), and her electronic music "In Our Stomachs" was performed at 2023 C-Lab Sound Festival. In summer 2024, she was a visiting artist for the ''CREATORS x C-Lab Exchange Program'' at IRCAM Pompidou. In recent years, her experiences include music design for "Skin Box" experimental theatre at the 2023 Taipei Fringe Festival and scoring for the television show "Sorry to Disturb" on Radio Taiwan International in 2022. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree at the University of Toronto. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Taipei.
Yuanwei Ni (China, 2004)
Yuanwei Ni is a composer whose work seeks to bridge emotional expression and structural innovation through music. Born and raised in Shanghai, she underwent six years of rigorous piano training at the Middle School Affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. This intensive foundation not only honed her technical and expressive capabilities but also laid the groundwork for her distinctive compositional voice, characterized by clarity and imagination. Remarkably, Yuanwei
began studying composition just three months before applying to university, yet her passion and dedication have fueled her rapid growth and artistic development.
Inspired by the intersection of tradition and modernity, Yuanwei’s music explores the resonance between cultural memory and contemporary soundscapes. Each of her works aims to foster a meaningful dialogue between the performer and the music, elevating the act of performance into a shared and profound experience. Continuously challenging herself, Yuanwei seeks to expand her understanding of musical language, embracing endless creative possibilities and bringing fresh perspectives to the world of music.
Yuanwei’s dedication to her craft is reflected in her extensive training and active involvement in the music community. She has participated in masterclasses and lessons with esteemed composers such as Melinda Wagner, David Sanford, John Aylward, and Chao Zhiju. Yuanwei also contributed as a teaching assistant at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where she supported piano masterclasses and served as an English translator for international events.
Yuanwei earned her foundational training in piano performance at the Middle School Affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory, studying under He Le and William Chen. Currently, she is pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree in Composition at the New England Conservatory, where she studies under Efstratis Minakakis and John Mallia. Her work continues to reflect her passion for bridging tradition and modernity, as she explores new possibilities in sound and expression.
